Everyday Inspirations: Mediterranean Mint Gelato

My friend recently got me hooked on this delicious Mediterranean Mint Gelato by Talenti®. Something about it reminds me of my childhood, when my mom would bust out her ice cream machine (you know the kind that you have to cover in ice and rock salt) and she'd mix up a gallon of carob mint chip. We weren't allowed to eat a lot in the way of sweets when I was young...and the treats that we did have couldn't be sweetened with refined sugar. So while my adult palette would probably taste the carob chip of my youth (sweetened with rice syrup, honey, or raisins) and grimace...it was pure heaven to my petite taste buds. This Mediterranean Mint Gelato is an upgrade that I most heartily approve of.

I decided that it was also perfect inspiration for a little collection of goodies for the kitchen/home. Don't you agree?! What's your favorite ice cream or gelato flavor? Mouthwatering comments are most welcome. xo Ez

Everyday Inspirations: A Winter's Walk

As I mentioned earlier this week, the weather has been ridiculously lovely around these parts lately (sounds like we might finally get a touch of snow tonight though). So over the weekend I decided to get outside to bask in the warmth by taking a little walk around my neighborhood. Along a rather dilapidated fence line I spotted these tiny little pink berries, and quickly ran home to grab my camera so that I could capture them. I just love that cheerful pop of pink, don't you!

I started an Everyday Inspirations series last year, that I was hoping to use to encourage myself to remember to look around my actual surroundings for post inspiration (not just online). I loved the few posts I came up with, but unfortunately I didn't keep it up for very long. So I think I'd like to pick the series back up again. Everyday Inspirations: A New Favorite Color Palette

A little while back I started a post series that was to take inspiration from my daily life. I kind of forgot about it until a few weeks ago when I looked across the stormy sea of my desktop and spotted four objects looking back at me in the loveliest color palette. Everyday Inspirations: Color Hunting In My Studio

Hello dear ones.  While my blog is certainly infused with a healthy dose of pink, my favorite color of all has got to be aqua blue.  I really can't get enough of the hue and decided just the other day to go on a mini color hunt around my studio in search of lovely little odds and ends to photograph for today's Everyday Inspirations.  It turned out to be a pretty fast "hunt" since my home is filled with the color!

Everyday Inspirations: On My Desk

Hello lovelies!  I've been thinking lately that it would be a nice personal challenge for me to take snapshots and snippets from my own life and use them as the creative spark for some inspiration boards here on Creature Comforts.

This challenge has a lot to do with motivating myself to continually look for beauty in the simplicity of my day to day life (not always easy to do - but a worthy task for sure).  I hope to do more of these Everyday Inspiration boards in the coming months, and would love for you to join in on your own blogs and share snippets of your life with us.  The images can be of anything you'd like of course.  No need for them to be literal (like a desk for instance), they can be abstract, macro shots of textures and patterns you love in your home, snapshots of the town you live in, etc.  If you're game you can post the results with a link to your post over in the Creatures of Comfort group on flickr for us all to see and be inspired by.  I hope you'll play along!  xo Ez
